In August 2015, POC were awarded the contract to provide Preventative and Corrective Maintenance at Marks & Spencer’s flagship distribution centre in Castle Donington—one of the largest warehouses in the UK, spanning over 1 million square feet. The site supports over 600 high street stores and their entire online market, relying heavily on security-integrated automation.
Critical Repairs and System Recovery for Peak Operations
Our remit included maintaining approximately 400 CCTV cameras and comprehensive Intruder Alarm and Access Control systems, all under the care of our Technical Security Division. We took over from the incumbent provider during a period of frequent system failure, with the site operating at only 40–50% efficiency.
With peak trading season approaching, we quickly repaired critical faults, stabilised the system, and implemented new procedures for troubleshooting, reporting, and long-term maintenance. Within two weeks, the system exceeded 95% operational efficiency and remained stable throughout the entire busy period.
