POC were awarded an initial 18-month contract to protect 20 sites along the Preston to Blackpool North rail line, as part of the North West Electrification Project, specifically based on our experience of providing a robust security model on the East Coast Mainline
Comprehensive Security for Critical Infrastructure
To meet the complex demands of the project, we developed a hybrid security model aligned with our STAR Standard. Each of the 21 sites was protected with tailored CCTV systems, supported by Mobile Support Units (MSUs), Static Security, Site Access Controllers, and our dedicated Control & Command Centre. Our analytics-enabled camera systems created virtual perimeters that triggered real-time alerts, which were monitored live with MSU teams deployed on demand.
Beyond security, we introduced a Worker Transportation Service operating 24/7, transporting workers between central hubs and site locations. This allowed VolkerRail to meet critical deadlines with confidence
Installed and maintained advanced CCTV analytic systems.
Deployed mobile security teams for patrols and risk mitigation.
Conducted site-specific risk assessments to address vulnerabilities.
Worked alongside British Transport Police Operation Leopard.
